Clinton currently serves as the Deputy State Finance Director with the Administration of Governor Robert Bentley of Alabama. In his capacity as Deputy Finance Director, Clinton serves as an advisor to the Finance Director, the Governor and the Legislature in all financial matters and is charged with protecting the financial interests of the State of Alabama.
Clinton is also an active member of the Young Republican Federation of Alabama, serving on the steering committee as the Vice Chairman. Before taking his position in Governer Bentley’s administration, he was the Chairman of the Madison County Young Republicans. Under his leadership the Young Republican National Federation awarded them the “Small Club of the Year” award in 2010.
Also prior to entering public service, Clinton was the Director of Corporate Development, Mergers and Acquisitions at Intergraph Corporation, a leading global provider of engineering and geospatial software. Prior to joining Intergraph, Clinton worked in investment banking and finance with Wachovia and Merrill Lynch where he focused predominantly on leveraged finance and real estate advisory services. He began his career at Ernst & Young in the Assurance & Advisory division.
Clinton has served as an Executive Lecturer at the University of North Alabamaa s well as on the board of its Business School. Clinton holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Joseph Wharton scholar and a BBA in Finance & Accounting from the University of North Alabama. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Clinton is married to the former Rebecca Porter from Florence and is the father of triplets… Caroline, Elizabeth and Henry.
The Alabama Republican Party frequently honors Rising Republican Stars from throughout the state. Many of the outstanding conservative leaders they’ve recognized are heavily involved in one of Alabama’s YR clubs. Clinton is ALGOP’s Rising Republican Star for April 15, 2012.
