The Alabama Republican Party frequently honors Rising Republican Stars from throughout the state. Many of the outstanding conservative leaders they’ve recognized are heavily involved in one of Alabama’s YR clubs. Josh is ALGOP’s Rising Republican Star for December 12, 2011.

YRFA National Committeeman

Josh Woods is the immediate past Chairman and current Treasurer of the Mobile County Young Republicans, and also serves as the National Committeeman for the Young Republican Federation of Alabama to the Young Republican National Federation (“YRNF”).

In addition, Josh serves on the YRNF Education and Finance Committees.

Josh is from Mobile, AL and graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Finance Degree in 2009 and currently works as a commercial lending officer under credit administration at a regional bank.

Josh wed his wonderful wife, Kristin, in May of 2011 and they reside in Mobile.

Josh considers himself a “Political Nerd” and has always been interested in politics.

He has been politically active since the fourth grade when he campaigned for an individual running for a local house seat.

Since that time, Josh has been active in every election cycle from the local level to the national level.

Josh restarted the University of South Alabama College Republicans in 2007, serving as Chairman for two years.

He then went on to help reestablish the Mobile County Young Republicans in 2009 along with three good friends.

He serves on the Mobile County Republican Executive Committee (MCREC) and has previously sat on the steering committee.

Most recently, Josh received the “2010 MCREC Volunteer of the Year”, an award he cherishes and feels honored to have received.
